Professor Rajesh Gokhale is Secretary of Department of Biotechnology and a professor of Biology at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune. Professor Gokhale is immunilogist and has made significant contribution in understanding Tuberculosis. Dr Gokhale is a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, the Indian National Science Academy and the National Academy of Sciences. He has been awarded Swarnajayanti Fellowship, Dr Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, the National bio Science award for career development and the Infosys prize in Life Sciences.
