Dr. Jensen earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Denmark’s Aarhus University, where he also went on to earn both master’s and doctorate degrees in computer science.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center names Claus Torp Jensen, PhD, the New York City-based institution’s first chief digital officer and head of technology on Oct. 14. Dr. Jensen joins Memorial Sloan Kettering following a four-year stint at CVS Health and Aetna, where he served as the chief technology officer and head of architecture. In that role, he led CVS Health’s efforts in technology innovation, business transformation incubation, digital integration and more.

As chief digital officer and head of technology at Memorial Sloan Kettering, he leads the development of data platforms and other digital solutions, overseeing the operations of the cancer center’s 800-member information systems, health informatics and data products departments. Before joining CVS Health, he held leadership roles at IBM for seven years and at Danske Bank for 13 years. Throughout his career, he has received awards such as an InfoWorld and Forrester Enterprise Architecture Award in 2016 and, earlier this year, an IDG CIO 100 Award. The author of several publications, he holds a total of 14 patents associated with integration, APIs and transformation.
